Kabul, 16th July 2015 – Afghanistan Broadcast System (ABS), an Afghan-owned media company based in Kabul, has achieved yet another milestone by reaching 100,000 fans on its Oqaab Facebook page in only 3 months. This is faster than any other Afghan company in the social media era was able to gather likes.

Oqaab has answered over 40,000 messages, 1,700 live chats and over 5,800 Emails. With around 9 Million impressions and answering 80% of incoming messages within 20 min, Oqaab is on the forefront of customer service and customer interaction in Afghanistan.

In April 2015 ABS launched its state-of-the-art Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) terrestrial service, branded “Oqaab” (meaning “eagle” in Dari), which allows viewers to watch television with clear, crisp picture and sound quality, up to High Definition (HD) via house antenna. The DVB technology eliminates the static disruptions, poor quality, and signal interference.

With a high interest in attracting the attention of an Afghan youth demographic that has become increasingly tech-savvy in recent years, the Oqaab Social Media Team achieved success by posting content that was both informative and entertaining. This included details on where to purchase the digital receivers, set-up instructions, and humorous videos illustrating the downfalls of traditional analogue TV viewing.

“Oqaab reaches over 4,5 Mio people in Kabul alone which is significant higher than any other TV channel was able to achieve before. The level of engagement on the Oqaab fan page is a clear indicator that Afghan television consumers are ready for change,” explained ABS Chief Operating Officer Andreas Wilmers. “TV consumers in Afghanistan have suffered from unreliable terrestrial transmissions for years and with Oqaab we are leap-frogging to the most advanced television system in the world. Of course Afghans are going to be curious about what this means, and have been drawn to our Facebook and Web page to get more information on the technology and coverage areas.”

With a multi-million dollar investment in infrastructure and personnel, ABS has launched the service initially in Kabul, to be followed shortly by subsequent service launches in 20 provincial capitals within the next three years.

طوری که شما در جریان قرار دارید، شرکت عقاب در سال ۲۰۱۵ میلادی نشرات دیجیتل را در کابل آغاز کرد. بعد از تاریخ متذکره همه ما منتظر نهایی سازی و تصویب مقرره دیجیتل از جانب حکومت افغانستان بودیم، که متأسفانه تا حال صورت نگرفته است.

ما امروز به خرسندی اعلان می نمائیم که شبکۀ عقاب با پیشکش های جدید توسعه می یابد:

الف) نشرات دیجیتلی زمینی

شرکت عقاب نشرات دیجیتلی زمینی را در ۵ ولایات مهم کشور بشمول کابل (مزار شریف، کندهار، جلال آباد و هرات) سر از تاریخ ۱۵ می سال ۲۰۱۹ میلادی آغاز می نماید. هدف ما این است تا تمام شبکه های تلویزیونی داخلی را در ولایت شامل کنیم و در هر ولایت شبکه های تلویزیونی موجود را به ترانسمیتر خود وصل نمائیم.

فیس نشرات دیجیتلی زمینی

از آنجا که دولت افغانستان تا حال مقرره دیجیتل را نهایی نکرده و نیز واضح نیست که چی زمانی نشرات انالوگ در کشور متوقف خواهد شد، بناء شرکت عقاب تصمیم اتخاذ نمود که الی زمان ختم نشرات انالوگ از جانب دولت در ولایات  مربوطه، در قسمت فیس نشرات تخفیف بیاورد. ما تخفیف های ویژه ذیل را اعلان می نمائیم که سر از تاریخ اول فبروری سال ۲۰۱۹ میلادی قابل تطبیق می باشد.

شبکه های تلویزیونی سرتاسری:

در صورتی که شبکه های تلویزیونی در 5 ولایات (کابل، مزارشریف، کندهار، جلال آباد و هرات) شامل سیستم دیجیتلی عقاب شوند، در آنصورت شرکت متذکره مبلغ ۳۰۰ دالر امریکایی در بدل هر ولایت که در مجموع ۱۵۰۰دالر امریکایی برای ولایات متذکره می شود، از نزد هر شبکه تلویزیونی بصورت ماهوار اخذ خواهد کرد. جهت دسترسی بیشتر به این پیشکش، آن عده شبکه های تلویزیونی که در حال حاضر شامل ماهواره (Express AM, Yahsat) نیستند، می توانند به پیشکش نشرات ماهواره یی ما که ذیلاً توضیح شده است، مراجعه نمایند و یا می توانند سگنال های خود را به ترانسمیترهای ولایتی ما ارسال کنند.

(الف: شبکه های ولایتی محلی (شبکه های تلویزیونی در مزارشریف، جلال آباد، کندهار و هرات

آن عده از شبکه های تلویزیونی محلی که علاقمند پخش نشرات شان در ولایت شان اند، می توانند با پرداخت ۳۰۰ دالر امریکایی در یک ماه، شامل سیستم دیجیتل شوند. ولایت کابل از این پیشکش مستثنی است.

ب: نشرات ماهواره یی

شرکت عقاب یک قرارداد ۵ ساله را با یوتل ست جهت استفاده از فضای ترانسپاندر بر Express AM6در درجه ®۵۳Eامضا کرد. ما خرسند هستیم که بعد از تاریخ ۱۵ می سال ۲۰۱۹ میلادی خدمات ماهواره یی را برای مشتریان خود فراهم کنیم.

فیس نشرات ماهواره یی

آن عده از مشتریانی که علاقمند اند نشرات شان از طریق ماهواره پخش شود، بدون این که شامل سیستم نشرات دیجیتلی زمینی ما شوند، مبلغ ۲۰۰۰ دالر امریکایی در بدل یک میگابایت در هر ماه اخذ می شود.

آن عده از شبکه های تلویزیونی که شامل سیستم دیجیتلی زمینی (DTT) اند، ۱۰ درصد تخفیف دریافت خواهند کرد و مبلغ ۱۸۰۰ دالر امریکایی در بدل یک میگابایت در هر ماه از نزد شان اخذ خواهد شد.

شرایط و مقررات این پیشکش:

• تخفیف در فیس شبکه های تلویزیونی در کابل بعد از تاریخ اول فبروری سال ۲۰۱۹قابل اجرا می باشد.
• تخفیف در فیس شبکه های تلویزیونی در سایر ولایات بعد از تاریخ ۱۵ می سال ۲۰۱۹ قابل اجرا می باشد.
• شبکه های تلویزیونی مکلف اند تا سگنال خود را به ترانسمیتر ما از طریق ماهواره ارسال کنند و یا می توانند از طریق پیشکش ماهواره یی ما نیز در ولایت ها نشرات داشته باشند.
• تمام مبالغ باقیات گذشته باید بصورت اقساط بطور مساویانه پرداخت گردد.
• آن عده از شبکه های تلویزیونی که قرارداد شان قبلاً فسخ گردیده است، لازم است تا قرارداد جدید را با شرکت عقاب عقد کنند.
• تخفیف متذکره صرف زمانی قابل اعتبار است که نشرات انالوگ از جانب حکومت افغانستان در ولایت مربوطه متوقف شود.

New resources also enabling ABS to extend DTT coverage to the entire Afghan territory

Paris, 13th February 2019 – Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) and Afghanistan Broadcasting System (ABS) have signed a multi-year, multi-transponder contract for video capacity on the EUTELSAT 53A satellite.

ABS will use EUTELSAT 53A’s Ku-band resources over Central Asia to provide nationwide coverage for the launch of its new DTH platform, Oqaab HD+. This platform will be enriched in the coming months to carry a mix of national and premium international channels. The capacity will also enable ABS to extend its DTT network from Kabul to Afghan provinces by feeding DTT network head-ends and covering the entire country via DTH.

Andi Wilmers, ABS’s Chief Operating Officer said: “ABS is the only government approved channel aggregator. With our new teleport in Kabul, we provide better signal quality for the local broadcasters across Afghanistan at a competitive price. In 2019 we will offer enhanced services like Video on Demand (VOD) and other products to customers across the country. Eutelsat’s Afghanistan beam provides the needed signal strength so that people can receive all channels with even a 45 cm satellite dish antenna.”
